Metrolinx Personal Track Safety
(MX PTS)
This introductory course is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the essential principles of rail safety, track protection, and working safely within a commuter railway environment.
Participants will develop a strong foundation in railway safety procedures, including hazard identification, security awareness, emergency response, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Through real-world scenarios and industry best practices, learners will gain the necessary awareness to navigate Metrolinx’s rail network safely.
The course also covers the roles and responsibilities of individuals working in the railway sector, particularly those engaged in general labor activities related to construction, maintenance, inspection, and repair. Emphasis is placed on safety compliance, work permit requirements, and the importance of supervision and protection when working near railway tracks.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of the safety measures required to work within the Metrolinx
Who this training is for ?
- Anyone working within the Metrolinx Right of Way (ROW)
- Anyone working under a form of track protection on a Metrolinx site
- Anyone working on a piece of Metrolinx owned rail infrastructure (e.g., bridges, tunnels, etc.)
