The Metrolinx General Engineering Instruction (GEI) training is a vital program designed to equip engineers, contractors, supervisors, and maintenance personnel with a thorough understanding of Metrolinx’s engineering standards and safety requirements. This course provides detailed guidance on how to plan, execute, and manage construction and maintenance activities safely and effectively within Metrolinx rail corridors.

 Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the GEI framework, including the technical specifications, safety protocols, and operational procedures necessary to maintain the integrity and safety of railway infrastructure. The course covers critical topics such as site access control, worksite safety, communication protocols with rail traffic control, track protection, and regulatory compliance.

 Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and practical examples, attendees will learn how to identify potential risks, implement effective mitigation strategies, and ensure all work complies with Metrolinx policies and regulatory requirements. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, proper documentation, and proactive safety management to minimize disruptions and protect workers, passengers, and equipment.
